Not a single new character in Boruto holds a candle to any of the older characters and the show is now close to 300 episodes and a movie. Not a single villain, not a side character, not the MC, nothing comes close to the OG Naruto characters and the story. If you rank top 100 characters, not a single boruto character makes the list. I'd rate the Ichiraku ramen guy above Boruto himself.

Wow...Honda really let his personal Boruto bias really show this episode. Kawaki Literally was beating Boruto easily in the manga and forced him to use karma because he was getting that overwhelmed. The only reason he beat Kawaki was because he subconsciously tried to use karma to absorb the attack, which shouldnt even happen given the anime has had plenty of time pass for Kawaki to of gotten adjusted to be without it...this is why this chapter should've been cut altogether, because it makes zero sense in the anime timeline and if you read the manga then you KNOW why.

There is some important symbolism as to what will happen between Kawaki and Boruto. It is not a quality episode, but saying it should have been cut... a very hot take.

The animation is clearly low-budget. There's hardly any movement, just still shots with only the mouth moving. The fight scene was below-average too.
The biggest issue is that the drawings were lacking as well. They seemed rigid and not dynamic.
And before you say "u ArEnt foRCed to WatCH", shut up. I can watch and point out the truth. I know animators in Japan are fucked due to their schedules, but this outcome is unnacceptable! It is the companys' fault, not the animators.

However, who actually buys the product? Boruto releases on Television, and the viewers don't directly pay for it. Neither are you or I paying for it directly. Indirectly, we have all paid for it in some way. Is your internet free? Is your electricity free? Both Japanese and non-Japanese don't buy Boruto. We both watch it either legally, on a television, or illegally online, although I am not responsible for the fact that online viewing on this website does not provide the Japanese companies anything other than exposure to the show. Also you don't know if I didn't contribute for it at all by buying figurines, or video games related to the series.

I also didn't in any way expect movie level animation, but for a show that entered its most important arc after a bunch of useless filler episodes, some level of expectation is certain.

No problem, I understand where you are coming from. I am also aware that me complaining about it won't change the outcome of it. But the thing is, I was, for the majority of my comment, just pointing out the low level of animation and design of that episode (I in fact enjoyed the next one a lot more since it had more dynamic drawings at least).
I just kinda get annoyed when Boruto seems to fluctuate in very low levels of animation in certain episodes and then randomly getting the spike in another. It's just inconsistent.
If I had some good level of income, I would not bother paying at Crunchyroll, but I don't like the website overall. I would rather donate to the animation studios directly.

The company is not at fault because it is their responsibility under the rules of capitalism to make as much profit as possible, even if it means overworking staff, cutting staff pay, pissing off the fans, shipping out an incomplete product.
